Get Your Film Developed, Scanned & Printed

Welcome to Midtown Film Lab! My name is Josh and I'm a film photographer and developer from Grand Rapids, Michigan. I go by JoshFromGR.

I'm excited to help you develop, scan, and print your film pictures! I specialize in C-41 color negative film, black and white negative film, and ECN-2 color negative processes in 35mm and 120 (or similar formats).

If you have any specific needs that don't quite fit this model, please don't hesitate to reach out! I'd be more than happy to work with you to find the perfect solution.

Development

For development, I charge by the tank, which can accommodate up to 3 rolls of 35mm film or 4 rolls of 120. All rolls in a tank must be the same film size, get the same chemical process (C-41, B&W, or ECN2), and receive the same push/pull treatment. There is no extra charge for push/pull processing, but it is applied to all rolls in the tank.

Don't forget to use the handy pricing calculator below to get an estimate for your order!

Scanning

Scans are just $10 per roll for full frame 35mm and 120, and $20 per roll for half-frame rolls or 220 rolls, which take a bit longer to scan. I use a Sony A6600 to scan your film including the sprocket holes and process the images with Negative Lab Pro. I carefully go through each frame to remove as much dust and scratches as possible, along with color correcting to ensure your film photos look their absolute best.

All scans are done at maximum quality. You can expect an image resolution of around 4000x4000. Images look good printed in 8x10 and larger sizes. Take a look at these example scans.

Printing

I offer 4x6 or 5x7 print sets. A set will be prints of all photos in an order. Prints are done on a Canon Pixma G6020 and typically will use Canon papers and inks. The prints come with a quarter inch white border to frame your photos.

1 Tank - $15.00

Color Tank
C-41 is the standard color negative process. ECN2 is a motion picture film process that is similar but not identical to C-41. This includes removing the remjet layer from the film.
220 film is also known as 120 film, but with twice the length. This is accepted but it will be counted as 2 rolls.
Push or pull processing adjusts the development time to compensate for underexposure or overexposure. Select the appropriate option based on your film's exposure. No extra charge for push/pull processing, but it will be applied to all rolls in the tank.
$10 each. Enter the number of rolls you want to develop and scan.
$20 each. Some cameras take half-frame pictures, giving you a 72 frame roll instead of 36 frames. These take the same time to develop, but twice the time to scan.
$5 per roll. Your negatives will be sliced into 6 frame strips (3 frames for 120 film) and mailed to you in archival sleeves for protection.
Negatives are returned in a basic paper envelope. If you select this option if you want negatives returned but do not need archival sleeves.
Select if you do not need your negatives back.
